Avery's team, led by attorney Kathleen Zellner, says the judge should reconsider because they were not finished submitting evidence. Zellner claims Avery should get a new hearing because his trial attorneys failed to investigate another family member for the murder of Teresa Halbach. The motion claims Brendan Dassey's brother, Bobby, and stepfather, Scott Tadych, gave false testimony at trial.

The documents claim Bobby Dassey, considered a star witness for the defense, lied when he said he never saw Halbach's vehicle leave the Avery Salvage Yard after she took photos of a vehicle for a magazine. Avery is asking for an evidenciary hearing based on the claims made within the supplement and the original motion filed on Oct.

In that document, Zellner says a new witness has come forward to say he saw Halbach's vehicle in the area of of State Highway and the East Twin River Bridge on Nov. This goes against the state's theory that Halbach's vehicle never left the Avery Salvage Yard after she took photos on Oct. The witness states that on Nov. Andy Colborn about what he saw. Zellner's motion states that Colborn never documented this conversation with the witness.

The motion states that the witness, on Jan. Colborn from "Making A Murderer. During Steven Avery's trial, Bobby Dassey testified that he saw Halbach's vehicle pull into the driveway at p. He said that he saw her taking photos of a van in front of his trailer, and then walking to Steven's trailer. Overnight, Brad Dassey has received a whirlwind of attention from strangers and the media. Although, according to him, his phone has been ringing off the hook from TMZ, Dr. Noisey: Hi Brad. They thought I had attention deficit because of it.

I was just keeping beats and minding my own business. Were you always into rap? I love a good beat, dude. Where did you actually grow up? I grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

I was born in Two Rivers. How long did you live in Manitowoc? I lived there for about 19 years of my life. I moved to the Fox Valley area [about an hour away] after that. Was there a hip-hop scene in Manitowoc? Not really. I write, I do the lyrics, engineer it all together. Cover songs are pretty cool, but as an artist, I really like to just do my own stuff. What kind of rap did you listen to? The biggest one that came out was Eminem for sure. I do music with positive messages and strong feelings.

Some of the biggest influences were Tupac and Timbaland, too. They do some rap too. They do basically parody stuff like Weird Al Yankovic, but only in Christian form. We have the same father [Peter Dassey] and different mothers. Did you grow up together? Did you ever live in the same house? Separate houses. The brother of Brendan Dassey who was convicted of murder alongside Steven Avery has revealed for the first time why he believes his sibling has been framed.

During the Making A Murderer series, it was shown that Brad Dassey fully believed his brother was guilty of killing photographer Teresa Halbach. But since then he has made an astonishing change of heart and has revealed to the Mirror the reasons why in the view interview above.

Brad, 32, appeared on US television outside Manitowoc County Circuit Court on the day of his younger brother's sentencing in after having appeared before the judge to ask for leniency. At the time he told a reporter that he agreed with the judge's sentencing on 16 year-old Brendan "to an extent" insisting he thought that Steven Avery had "coerced" him and that the school boy "didn't understand" the whole process.

However now more than 10 years on from the death of tragic Teresa on Halloween - Brad says he was wrong and that the Netflix documentary shows a level of corruption no-one knew existed at the time. Brendan was convicted of being party to first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse and second-degree sexual assault on April 25 He testified that he lied to investigators during the nine-day trial which ended when the jury took just four-and-a-half hours to find him guilty.

New Avery documents: phone calls and Facebook posts contradict key witness

Now after binge watching every episode the day it was released - Brad says Making a Murderer has completely swayed his opinion. In this footage the dad also says he's been the victim of online trolls who have lambasted him with criticism for originally believing his brother to be guilty.

And he adds that the benefit of hindsight has given him time to reflect and reassess his original belief.

Today, Kratz lives in Superior, Wisconsin where he, believe it or not, now works as a defense attorney.

It is unclear, however, if Kratz still continues to practice as his website still appears to be up and running. As a personal aside, I think Strang delivered one of the most memorable lines of the documentary in this courtroom exchange:.

Ken Kratz: But if we have to start this case swimming upstream, if you will, in the face of some instruction given to the jury that they should be taking some negative view of the state, then we intend to proceed on all six counts.

And the strong current against which the state is supposed to be swimming is the presumption of innocence. Speaking to the Wall Street JournalStrang explained:. We have been acting as informal advisers with Steven and his family for quite some time. We will assist in any way we can to help Steven get a new trial. In case you missed it, both Srang and Buting recently appeared on CBS This Morning where the pair discussed the case and the documentary.
